Sugar Will RETURNS!

It is no secret that I love the 2004 Dave Matthews Band Summer Tour.  The five new songs that year were so fantastic:  Joy Ride, Sugar Will, Good Good Time, Hello Again, and Crazy Easy.  With the anticipation of a new album in the spring of 2005 I was hoping that some if not all would make the new album.  To my disappointment only a stripped down Hello Again made it on the LP Stand Up.

Since, all of those songs have been put out to pasture at the Great Songs Disappear Farm.  Some have poked their head through the fence to be fed here and there, but never on a consistent basis.

So I am very excited to see the return of Sugar Will last night in London!  Last year during a clip promoting Big Whiskey and the Groogrux king, Dave was laying down the guitar riff in studio to Sugar Will.  However, it was not played in 2009. 

A couple of thoughts.  I like the chill versions in 2004 better.  No electic guitar and the soothing play of LeRoi Moore.  The trumpet seems to high pitched for the song from last night.  Dave has a near wail lyrics in the middle.  Overall, it sounds much tighter.  Please let this stick around this summer!!!
