Memorial Football State-Bound! Fan Information Inside

A standing ovation to the Memorial Tigers!  For the second straight season the Tigers are in the 3A State Championship game, and for the second time they convincingly eliminated one of the top football programs in the entire state: Bishop Chatard.

Memorial fell behind 14-0, but blindsided the Trojans with 28 straight points en route to the 37-21 final.  The story again for the Tigers was quarterback Grant Gribbins.  All season I have called Grant the best quarterback in the Tri-State viewing area, now he may prove he is the best signal caller in Indiana.

The top rated passer statistically was hobbled all week after straining a leg muscle while lifting weights.  Gribbins still put together an aerial attack that the Trojans defense could not attain.  After the clock hit zero, Gribbins finished with 335 yards passing, 4 touchdowns through the air, and another on the ground.

After the initial two scoring strikes by Chatard, the Tigers settled down.  This biggest play coming when the Trojans had first and goal at the one in the third quarter, and the Tigers recovered a fumble in the endzone for a touchback.  That preserved a 28-14 lead at the time, and kept the momentum with Memorial.

The Tigers will now face West Lafayette Saturday at 11am CST at Lucas Oil Stadium.  The Red Devils are 14-0.  Best of luck to the Tigers this Saturday!!

Tickets for the IHSAA 3A State championship football game Memorial vs. West Lafayette will go on sale Monday, November 23 4pm at Memorial athletic office.

Tickets are $15.00 and will be on sale daily from 7am until 4pm through this Friday.

With the exception of Thanksgiving day.

Each pre-sale ticket sold $1.00 will go to the football program.

There will be a student fan bus, cost is $40.00 and that includes your ticket. Students must sign up by noon Tuesday, November 24.

State Final T-shirts will go sale Monday, November 23 at 4pm at the athletic dept. cost is $12.00.
